As the owner of a skin care company, one of my most frequently asked questions is what do I do for my acne.
From my years of research and observation of people of all ages, it seems that most of us experience some form of acne at a period in our life. This may be due to stress, poor eating habits, hormones, and lack of friendly bacteria in the gut, and many other causes and instigators.
One of my tried and true recommendations is green tea. Green Tea, used topically is just as effective as Benzoyl Peroxide at clearing blemishes. It is also much gentler on the skin, which is a bonus for those of us over 30. Mature skin can do without the harsh traditional drying products of our youth. There are several ways to use Green Tea. I recommend topical application of pure Green Tea Extract or steeping a Green Tea bag in hot water for 5 minutes and either laying the tea bag on the blemished area, or soaking a cotton pad in the tea and laying it on the area to be treated. In addition, I am a big believer in drinking Green Tea daily as a remedy for cleansing skin, helping to maintain a healthy weight and its great concentration of ECGC, which is fully of catechins. Catechins are antioxidants we can all benefit from having more of.
Next week I will be blogging about more nutritional remedies for the skin. You won’t want to miss this!!
